Vision overview

The Future for Keynsham Vision contains ideas put forward by the Council business advisers Ernst & Young in consultation with residents, local businesses and other stakeholders to help protect what is best about Keynsham while proposing a blueprint for the town's improvement. These ideas are now being made open for discussion by all interested parties before final decisions are made.

Crucially, the Vision is about developing confidence in the town's future - in encouraging investment and promoting a sense of well-being in the community. The focus is not just on development, but also on the community and the way that we can work together to promote a better quality of life.

The Vision proposals aim to help Keynsham catch up economically and culturally and to improve and enhance its buildings and public spaces..

Consultation

It is important that the community as a whole is actively engaged in the proposals for the future of their town, to ensure an outcome which reflects the needs and aspirations of the many rather than the few.

We are aiming to canvass opinion from the residents, business community and other stakeholders in the Keynsham area on plans now being developed for its regeneration.  There are a number of ways that people can get involved, including by filling in the questionnaire or attending one of the other planned events.

This is an opportunity for the public to join the decision-making process and to help shape the direction of new developments.

We hope people will let us know what they feel about these initial proposals contained in the Vision, in particular about issues that affect them directly such as ideas for making the area more family-friendly or improving the public spaces.

This information will become part of the evidence used as the basis for developing the Vision proposals and future planning policy. It is part of a consultation exercise designed to help residents shape their community.

Timescale

The questionnaire will be open to all visitors to the Future for Keynsham website until 18 January and again at later dates throughout the year.
